The sparkle of Toyama Bay

Musashigawa Tsuyoshi

Technique: Mother-of-pearl inlay
Materials: Horse chestnut wood, abalone shell, urethane (food-grade)

The sea off Toyama is always sparkling and beautiful. I used abalone shells to represent the shimmering ocean. (I also love the dark, murky winter Sea of Japan.)

Artist: Tsuyoshi Musashigawa (Musashigawa Workshop)
The fourth generation of Musashigawa Workshop Co., Ltd., founded in 1910, and a traditional craftsman who inherits the tradition and techniques of "Aogai-nuri (Mother-of-Pearl Inlay)" of Takaoka lacquerware.
